Creating CyberPlaces

Creating CyberPlaces features writing on community media centers, community computer networks and community technology centers, all efforts at creating community based, democratic Cyberplaces. In this first effort we emphasize local cable franchising as it remains one of the few arenas in which the public has even a minimal say in the policy and development of the communication systems that play an increasingly crucial role in our lives. In the future our focus will shift to other practices of place-based information work and culture.
