Membership is based on professional and artistic affinities and appreciation for the effort it takes to manifest a vision.
Over time MWG has honed its culture and services to best serve the complex needs of independent digital video and filmmakers, journalists, digital networkers, new media makers, educators, researchers, organizations, organizers, and writers.
Members are the dictators of their projects, they make all aesthetic, production, and business decisions about their work, and hold all intellectual property rights
If you’d like to work with us there are a couple of ways you can participate, as a Producing Member or Fee-based Services. If you want to produce films, video, do media education or use media for social impact, the first thing you should do is look at this site, look at the kinds of programs our members have produced. If you think we might hold some values in common call us about becoming a Member mail(at)mwg(dot.org.
Past and present members have successfully completed projects and distributed them on P.O.V., BBC 2, WNET13-New York, Independent Focus, The Learning Channel, Discovery, Russian TV, national and regional PBS including the Ohio PBS Consortium, North Carolina and Kentucky Educational Television. We use a variety of distribution points such as Media Working Group, Amazon and Women Make Movies.
